Jonathan Marchessault scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in Monday's 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets to even the Western Conference Final to one game apiece.
Marchessault scored his first goal of the night to give Vegas a 2-0 lead in the opening frame. After a scoreless second period, the Jets cut their deficit in half on the power-play off the stick of Kyle Connor. Just under two minutes later, Marchessault sucked the wind out of the white-out's sails with a quick backhand off a feed from linemate Reilly Smith to seal the 3-1 victory.
"Every time we [need] a big game [out] of our group, we show up, and tonight we definitely showed up," Marchessault said postgame. "I think we showed the hockey world that we [earned] the right to be here and we're able to play against a great team."
The victory was just another game in a run of strong outings for the Quebec-born forward, who has seven points in his last four games.
Marchessault tallied career highs in assists (48) and points (75) during the regular season, and currently leads the Golden Knights with six goals and 15 points in his team's inaugural season and first Stanley Cup Playoffs appearance.
The series now shifts to Las Vegas for Game 3 with puck drop at T-Mobile Arena Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
