The NHLPA Rookie Showcase is one of our most anticipated weeks of the year, and has become much more than simply a place for the best of new faces to get photographed for their first big league trading cards.

Upper Deck has been one of the event’s sponsors since the very first Rookie Showcase back in 2009, and in that time has produced some pretty memorable footage and videos. Here’s a throwback to UD’s 2010 Rookie Showcase video in which then rookies John Tavares, P.K. Subban, James van Riemsdyk, and more show us their most original trick shots.

At the 2014 event, Upper Deck challenged some NHL Rookies to be a little more graceful in their approach. Here’s what happened when top picks Aaron Ekblad, Sam Reinhart, Sam Bennett, and others took on the challenge.

It’s not likely we’ll see any of the photos from this video session on their Rookie Cards, but that’s probably for the best. Upper Deck’s 2014-15 ICE trading cards released last week, and are currently available at most trading card hobby stores and authorized internet retailers.
