Need some summer movie suggestions that you can watch from the comfort of your couch? He might not be able to provide the popcorn and refreshments, but Connor Brown can deliver a handful of Hollywood flicks you might want to consider, including a blockbuster he watched more than a few times from the comfort of his father’s mini van.
Here are the movies that get a thumbs-up from the 24-year-old Toronto Maple Leafs forward.
1. Something to Crowe about
“Gladiator is one of my all-time favourites. I couldn’t even tell you how may times I’ve seen it. The Roman Empire always kind of fascinated me and I just love the story. Russell Crowe has always been one of my favourite actors and there are so many good lines in it. I remember watching it on the way to hockey games in the back of my dad’s mini van.”
2. Thumbs-up for Leo and Daniel
“I like Gangs of New York. I’m a big Leonardo Di Caprio fan and Daniel Day-Lewis, who plays ‘The Butcher,’ is probably one of my favourite characters in any movie I’ve ever seen. I love that movie a lot.”
3. Where there’s a Will…
“Let’s go with a comedy. I really like Semi-Pro and the sports mentality of it, playing on a team and all the different dynamics. A lot of it hit home for me. Will Ferrell’s hilarious. My brother and I quote that movie for hours.”
4. It must be love
“One of my favourites is Crazy, Stupid, Love. I like that movie, too. Ryan Gosling is great in it. He’s a cool dude. I’ve seen that a time or two as well.”
5. Oh brother!
“The one we used to watch all the time heading up to the cottage is Undercover Brother. That movie is gold. That was an all-time favourite. We own that DVD.”
