Logan Couture got the job done for the San Jose Sharks with the double-overtime game-winning goal that helped his club even their second-round Western Conference series while handing the Vegas Golden Knights their first postseason loss Saturday night.

The 4-3 victory for the Sharks came during a two-goal night for Couture, who first struck in the second period to tie what was then a 2-2 game. He scored his game-deciding tally 5:13 into the second period of overtime on a great setup from teammate Kevin Labanc.

"[Defenseman Brent Burns] did a good job getting to the middle of the ice, where you want to work the power play from," Couture said of his second NHL postseason career overtime goal. "Kevin Labanc made a heck of a pass. I didn't think he was going to dish it over there; he even surprised me a little bit. Caught it, saw a lot of net, and shot it."

The alternate captain hauled in 27:49 of ice time while firing off seven shots to lead his team's offence, which was without a key first-line player in Evander Kane  who made his appreciation of Couture's overtime heroics known.

The Sharks will look to use home ice to their advantage when the puck drops on Game 3 of the Western Conference series, which heads back to SAP Center Monday.
