The defenceman picked up his first point of the night at 10:34 of the first period with a quick release that bounced past Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to make the score 2-0. The goal was his second of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Less than three minutes later, Methot notched a helper for his second point of the game with the primary assist on Zack Smith's goal to make it a 4-0 Senators lead. Methot, skating in his hometown of Ottawa, registered three shots on goal and boasted a plus-4 rating in 21:40 of ice time.
The victory gave the Senators a 2-1 series lead.
Game 4 stays in Ottawa and will played at Canadian Tire Centre Friday.
