For the eighth consecutive year, the NHLPA is partnering with the NHL, Upper Deck and hobby shop dealers throughout Canada and the United States to deliver hockey fans FREE hockey packs on National Hockey Card Day! The annual event has become a favorite with fans as they plot their course by visiting the Upper Deck National Hockey Card Day Locator to find participating shops they can visit to score free cards. The event runs on Hockey Day in
Canada on Saturday, February 6, 2016. There are two unique sets available to fans in Canada and the United States.
This year is sure to be the most exciting event ever with rookie cards of incredible talents like Connor McDavid, Max Domi, Artemi Panarin, Jack Eichel, Dylan Larkin, Sam Bennett and more! Each 15-card set features rookies, stars and legends. A special 16th card can be collected by purchasing $10 in Upper Deck products at participating shops that day and features Draft Day imagery of Connor McDavid (#1 pick by the Edmonton Oilers) in Canada and Jack Eichel (#2 pick by the Buffalo Sabres). Fans can also find rare signed cards and other unique cards inserted randomly into packs!
Special 8-card sheets will also be available at the Hockey Hall-of-Fame, some select hockey arenas and retailers like London Drugs and Toys “R” Us (Canada exclusive).
Upper Deck has also created some guides on how to collect hockey cards that shops will be distributing during the event as well. New fans can also checkout an online version to get more details on how to get started in the hobby of collecting NHL trading cards.
It is a great day for the whole family to get out and share your love for the game by scoring great cards of the league’s best players!
