Mark Scheifele scored his league-best 12th goal of the postseason, as part of his eighth multi-point effort, to help the Winnipeg Jets to a 4-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights Saturday night.
Scheifele (1-1–2) was named the game's third star as he led the game's forwards with 20:26 of ice time while adding some grit with five hits on the night, and helping his club by winning 61.5% (8/13) of his faceoffs. In the first Western Conference Final in Jets franchise history, the club put up a team-effort with Scheifele, Dustin Byfuglien (1-1–2) and Blake Wheeler (0-3–3) all posting multi-point efforts. All three skaters were part of a strong first period that saw Winnipeg score three goals just 7:35 into the opening frame.
The 'Whiteout' seems to be working at Bell MTS Place – the Jets own a 5-2 winning record home at home so far this 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs and have outscored opposition 24-15 with home ice advantage. With that in mind, the Scheifele's ability on the road has proven to be the perfect complement to the club.
