Goals & Dreams Donates $50K In Equipment To Hockey Programs In Peterborough, ON

This year's CBC's annual Hockey Day in Canada (HDIC) celebrations took place in Peterborough, Ontario on February 9th. CBC personalities and former NHLPA members came together to for the 2013 HDIC live broadcast, and hundreds of local hockey fans filled the frozen canals of the Trent Severn water way.
During its coverage of the event, CBC featured a spot highlighting the efforts of the NHLPA Goals & Dreams Fund, which donated approximately $50,000 worth of brand new hockey equipment to five grassroots hockey programs in Peterborough as part of the day's festivities.
Since its inception in 1999, Goals & Dreams has donated $21 million in hockey equipment to more than 60,000 children in 32 countries, making it the largest grassroots hockey program in the world.
