It was a great week to be a New York Ranger, especially if you're Kevin Hayes.

The centreman is riding a five-game point streak after delivering a goal in each of the New York Rangers’ four wins last week, making him the NHLPA.com player of the week.

Hayes caught fire amid the Rangers’ five game winning streak, first showcasing his stellar play against St. Louis on Tuesday. He padded a 5-0 win for his team by cashing in a 3-on-1 rush started by his childhood buddy, Jimmy Vesey, off a one-timer from J.T. Miller.

It was on to Edmonton for what was arguably his best performance of the week. Hayes posted a multi-point performance with one goal and a pair of assists in a 5-3 win over the Oilers.

Hayes also proved productive on the penalty kill, putting away one of the two short-handed goals for the Blueshirts in Boston on Saturday, but he tied a bow on the week in Sunday night's matchup against the Winnipeg Jets. He took home first star of the game honours after opening the scoring with another wicked one timer in a 5-3 win for New York.

Hayes now has 12 points on the season, and sits tied for first among NHL forwards in plus/minus rating with plus-13.
