Andre Burakovsky scored in his second consecutive game Monday to help the Washington Capitals to fend off elimination once more in a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
With the Capitals' backs against the wall in Game 6 of the Second Round series, the 22-year-old forward netted a pair of unassisted goals, posting his second multi-goal game of his playoff career on the heels of notching a goal and an assist in Game 5.
Burakovsky put the Capitals up 2-0 in the second period by capitalizing on a turnover for his first goal of the night, finishing a 2-on-1 play with teammate T.J. Oshie.
"I think everything comes with confidence," said Burakovsky postgame. "During these whole [Stanley Cup Playoffs], I think I've been creating so many chances."
Game 7 of the Second Round Eastern Conference series will be held Wednesday in Washington at Verizon Center.
