Erik Karlsson scored the series-clinching goal for the Ottawa Senators Tuesday to defeat the New York Rangers, sending the team to the Eastern Conference Final for the third time in franchise history (2003, 2007).

The goal was Karlsson's second of the postseason, and also his second game-winner.

The Swedish captain (1-1—2) posted his second consecutive multi-point game after putting up three assists in Game 5.

Karlsson currently leads all defencemen in assists and points with 2-11—13 over the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs, averaging over a point a game in the first two rounds, all while extending franchise records for assists and points by a defenceman in a postseason.

The Senators will face either the Washington Capitals or Pittsburgh Penguins the Capitals, an outcome that will be decided in Wednesday's Game 7 matchup.
