It's been a year of firsts for Carter Rowney, who notched three assists to help the Penguins to a 7-0 win in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Final against the Ottawa Senators in Pittsburgh Sunday.
Rowney picked up the first point of his Stanley Cup Playoffs career with an assist on Bryan Rust's first period goal to make the score 3-0 Penguins. Rust's goal was the third of four goals by Pittsburgh in the opening frame.
Rowney proceeded to pick up the primary on Scott Wilson's marker just over two minutes later in the first period before picking up his third assist of the night on Matt Cullen's goal in the second period.
It's been quite the season for Rowney, who made his NHL debut earlier in the year with Pittsburgh.
